Strategic Land Manager

Our North Home counties region, based from our brand new office in Milton Keynes, is growing fast and this will be a great opportunity for a Strategic Land Manager to work on major projects as part of an experienced strategic land and development team and continue the growth of the SE strategic land portfolio by finding and securing new strategic sites.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage the promotion of existing strategic projects working with the development and planning directors.
• Appoint and manage consultant teams.
• Manage planning budgets.
• Attend meetings with local authorities, external consultants and landowners.
• Assist the planning director and manage consultants when preparing planning applications.
• Identify and secure new strategic opportunities.
• Evaluate the planning potential of strategic sites by careful examination of the site specific issues, the local authority planning position and by engagement with internal and external planning consultants.
• Negotiate HOTs on option / promotion agreements or unconditional acquisitions.
• Prepare indicative development appraisals for the development director.
• Negotiate detailed contractual terms with the assistance of our legal team and the development director.
• Assist the development director in exercising option agreements and agreeing land values with vendors and their professional teams.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in the strategic division of a housebuilder or land promoter.
• Be a member or working towards membership of the RICS or RTPI.
